The Gospel community asked and it was given; the call reverberated for the return of the Gospel Concert to the Crop Over calendar and so great was the response, that on Wednesday night (July 20th)  the walls of the Queen’s Park Steel Shed could not contain the mammoth crowd that converged for the programme that featured the brightest stars in the Gospel fraternity.

The fortunate who made it inside, raised their hands heaven-wards with each song, each dance, each call to ‘Praise the Lord’. For Pastor Mark Harewood who performed the duties of Master of Ceremonies, ‘the money’s worth had been received from the start with the opening number from HEALING HANDS with Paula Hinds, Sheldon Hope,  Mya Daniel, James Leacock and Sammi-Jane  who performed “Lord You are Good” . The rest of the concert  surpassed good.

Also appearing at the concert which was entitled ‘Come Praise The Lord’ Marcus King, Andre Daniel and Friends, Praise Academy of Dance, G-Syndicate and The Miraclettes. On this night the National Cultural Foundation honoured Sister Magarita Marshall and Joseph Niles who combined, have dedicated more than eighty five years to ministering the Gospel in song.
