Stedson ‘RPB’ Wiltshire, Michael ‘Mikey’ Mercer and David ‘Popsicle’ Hall, the three winners of the major Crop Over Calypso competitions; the MQI/98.1 The One Sweet Soca Monarch Competition, The Party Monarch Competition and the Banks/LIME Pic O de Crop Competition were presented with the keys to their prize cars at the McEnearney Quality Inc. complex today. The monarchs were joined by officials of the National Cultural Foundation and representatives of McEnearney Quality Inc for the presentation.

Two Kias in one Soca Royale Competition
In the revamped MQI/98.1 The One Soca Royale, it was ‘RPB’ who won the favour of the judges with his ‘Once Upon a wine’, and in so doing drove away with the sleek red Kia Cerato Koupe,   the first time a car has been offered as the top prize in the history of the competition. The Party Monarch which was rescheduled to be staged at night for the first time since its introduction at the East Coast, allowed for the creation of a more spectacular affair and ‘Mikey’ singing ‘Pavement Anticipation swayed the mammoth crowd enroute to winning the competition and the black Kia Cerato Koupe.

From donkey cart to Sportage
First time Pic-O-De Crop Monarch David ‘Popsicle’ Hall sang of riding on his family donkey before making it to the finals at Kensington Oval, but after a night of keenly contested competition, he was rewarded with the Kia Sportage for being the best on the night. More than a fair pick, his trade in for Cornwell is a gleaming orange SUV which has received the same Freekz Customz treatment as the Kia Cerato Koupes.
